1. Body Systems

This brief overview of anatomy and physiology acquaints the student with the inner workings of the human body, with reference to how it is affected by what we eat.

2. The Digestive System

The digestive system is the part of the body most directly concerned with nutrition, and thus we will go into its structure and functions in detail in this lesson.

3. Essential Nutrients

Nutrients are the fuel that powers our bodies. This lesson discusses the role and sources of carbohydrates, fats and lipids, fibre, proteins, water and oxygen.

10. Ethical Eating

In this lesson, the student will learn about organic and ethically produced food, the benefits of vegetarianism and the special dietary needs of those on alternative diets.

11. Allergy, Intolerance and Diagnosis

The number of people suffering from food allergies and intolerances is on the rise. Learn about the difference between these conditions, how they are diagnosed, and how they are treated. Students are instructed on how to use a holistic method of diagnosis, muscle testing.

12. Children and Teens

In this lesson, the student will learn about guiding fussy eaters and supporting growing bodies through infancy, early childhood, and puberty.

13. Women’s Health

In this lesson, the student will come to appreciate the role of counselling techniques in nutritional consultancy, and how to use goal setting to motivate clients.

It is vitally important, as a consultant, to understand the importance of confidentiality and working ethically.

18. Setting up Shop

If the student wishes to practice professionally, this lesson will guide her or him through the early stages of setting up and running a business.
